Block -  Review imperfect and practice  Do #5,6, 7 and 8 in class.  Be sure to write out whatever you need to do at home to be sure you have this.  Practice the adjective "tout"  for activities 9 and 10.  Finish with #11 together.  Homework.  Write out your summary for Friday work / edit / commenting.

Friday - Read your summaries to each other, practice and correct.  Mme with randomly choose names and we will correct them together.  Hand in (random) for spot correction by Mme.

Monday - Last Presentation / Put work up on walls.  Complete #10 p. 287 on a separate sheet of paper.  Hand in at end of class.

Tuesday - Work through double object pronouns.  Sentences from you using double object pronouns and practice.   Par exemple:  Nous donnons la fiche a notre prof. =   Nous la lui donnons.    (10 sentences using different subjects and different verbs so lots of practice)

Block -  Your sentences come to life.  Begin 7B  (Vocab), Conversation and Apercus pp.  288-290.  Do 2,3,4

Monday :   Listen Activity #1 p. 282 - look over.  Activity #2 p. 283  (Write out)  Activity #3 p. 283  (write out)  Travel Vocabulary quiz p. 280 tomorrow   Write out #4 p. 284.  Hand in.

Next:  Turning your paper LANDSCAPE - Make a verb conjugation "grid"  and conjugate  avoir / etre / aller / faire  in the present tense, the command, and the passe compose.  All four verbs, all 6 forms of the verbs.

Tuesday:  #6 together p. 285   #7 p. 285 with partner and then oral check with class.  #5 p. 285 with your partner (check thereafter)   Do #8 ready for assessment.
Prepare both parts so you can play either during block day.

Wednesday:  Work on #9 and #10 preparing to play either part.  Demonstrate with the classroom.   Begin 7B with vocabulary, dialogue and A.C.  Prepare #4 for Friday

Friday:  Rework #4 in class at the table and in rounds.  Finish reading AC together.  Do #2 and #3 in class.

Quiz on 7B vocab next TUESDAY.

Week of February 4, 2013

Review of direct and indirect pronouns.  Do you know them?  Test....Block day

Begin Unit 7A all about the Loire Valley and Chateaux in France.  We will now start combining pronouns (2 together) in the present and past tense as well as the using them in the negative and command forms.  Travel Vocabulary (Quiz Monday the 11th) p. 280 is important for any global traveler.

Exercises #2, #3, #4 will be corrected / graded.

You will have a rubric for a written (visual) project about Chateaux in France.

We watched Jean de Florette and you completed the worksheets.  Additionally, you completed an outline and then wrote a paragraph about Jean Cadoret.

Week of January 22-25

Tuesday

Write a dialogue between two people (please give them French names) following #11 p. 249.  Hand in.

Copy vocabulary on pp. 250 and give English equivalent.  Translate letter p. 251.  Hand in.

Read A.C. p. 252.  Translate and hand in.

Do #2, #3 and #4 p. 253.   Hand in  (Finish at home if not finished in class)

Wednesday

Do #6 and #7 pp. 256 - 257   Hand in.

Read about lui and leur p. 257 - 258.   Write out Activities #8, #9 and #10 (no partners on #10) then hand in.

#12 is a written exercise and should take some time if done well.   Try to write using no dictionaries but you can use your books for vocab and verbs.  The content must be original.   You should write an introduction, at least one good paragraph and then a short conclusion.  Hand in what you finish in class.  NOT to be taken home to do.

Begin doing Workbook work affiliated with Vocabulary and Grammar for all of Unit 6.   Not as homework.

Friday

Read pp. 260 - 262.  Do #13 and #14.    Hand in

Start 6C by writing all the vocabulary on a separate sheet of paper.  Read the conversation and translate it - Hand in.

Finish all workbook work (related to 6A and 6B) for Monday.

Les Chateaux de la Loire - Presentation


In Unit 7, you will explore Les Chateaux de la Loire

On your own time you will do research on your chateau.  Your chateau will be chosen randomly on Wednesday, February 6th.  On  Block Day, February 20th, you will submit a VISUAL presentation to be shared with your classmates.

Your visual (value 50 points) will include:
  • an image of your chateau  (5 pts)
  • an image with a map showing location of your chateau (5 pts)
  • specific "must know" details about your chateau (this depends on each specific chateau and its significance)  (10 pts)
  • one specific detail that the rest of us need to know that sets this chateau apart from all the others (10 pts)
  • a place or something nearby that is interesting for us to visit as well (5 pts)
  • your work must be well labeled (5 pts)
  • writing must be legible and large enough to see from 5 feet out (5 pts)
  • submitted on time (5 pts)
If someone is not happy with your choice, I have yet another chateau to offer someone (written after A set on Wed, Feb 6th)...-Mme.
